Pick.Click.Give. was created by the Alaska State Legislature in 2008 to allow Alaskans filing for their PFD online to donate a portion or all of their dividend to eligible charitable and educational organizations.

When you file for your PFD, consider donating a portion to your local United Way. When you donate, you support the reading tutor program, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, services for individuals experiencing disabilities, healthy food for those experiencing food insecurity, supporting 34 partner agencies across the Southeast, and much more.
Board Update
United Way of Southeast Alaska recently held its annual meeting, at which time the board acknowledged and recognized outgoing board members, elected new board members and elected officers for the coming year. 
Jennifer Treadway has been elected to Chair of the Board of Directors for United Way of Southeast Alaska for 2020. She is a graduate of the Leadership Juneau program facilitated by United Way of Southeast Alaska, a former member of the AmeriCorps program, was previously employed by United Way as the Resource Development Director and has served on the board since January of 2018. Ms. Treadway will lead the 11 member board which is the governing body for the United Way of Southeast Alaska 

Theresa Belton and Desiree Smith have been elected to the board for a three year term expiring in 2023. Theresa Belton is the Chief Financial Officer of the Central Council Tlingit, Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska (CCTLITA). 

Kendri M. M. Cesar, a partner with the law firm of Sonosky, Chambers, Sachse, Endreson & Perry, LLP was recognized for her four years of service after serving on the board of directors from November 2015 to November 2019. Ms. Cesar was recognized for her service on the Campaign Committee, the Health Committee, and the Education Committee.

Mark Mesdag stepped down after more than nine years of service to the United Way of Southeast Alaska Board of Directors, having just completed two years of service to the board as Past Chair. Mr. Mesdag, a partner at Elgee, Rehfeld, served on the Board from February 2011 to January 2020 as well as serving on the Finance Committee for all nine of those years. He held the positions of Treasurer for four years, served as Chair of the Board for two years, and the past two years serving as Past Chair.  
AmeriCorps Service Member Spotlight

Meet Brenna! She is serving as a Children's advocate at AWARE. She provides childcare for anyone who comes into shelter and needs help with children. She also helps with commodities, which are any kind of supply people in shelter might need.She aids in organizing the basement where they keep food, blankets, clothes, toiletries, and anything else someone might.She also serves in the advocates office, helping participants with applications giving rides to appointments or anything else they may need!

Partner Agency Spotlight

SERRC overall focuses on education in the state of Alaska and supporting education institutions through answering different needs they have, but are unable to take care of themselves (payroll, IT, facilities, etc.).They also assist with special education across the state and working with districts so they can better understand how to serve that part of the population with members of the community instead of trained professionals. They also assist with GED and adult education across southeast Alaska. The Learning Connection in downtown Juneau focuses on GED testing, adult education, English as a Second Language Learners, and workforce development. They also providing support for students- if that means helping them understand a mathematical concept, creating a resume, or working on reading strategies.

They are currently hiring an Adult Educator/Volunteer Coordinator.
