February 2023 Edition

A Message from the Mayor

January was a busy month for Council! We had a series of wonderful community events and completed public hearings for our proposed city budget.

I have also been hearing from residents regarding their concerns about the increase in auto-theft in Vaughan and across York Region. I have spoken to Canada's Minister of Public Safety and have written letters to both him and Prime Minister Trudeau regarding these concerns. I am committed to working with all levels of government to to ensure that Vaughan remains safe.

As always, if you ever need anything from my office, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Steven Del Duca

On January 31st, I wrote a letter to Minister Mendicino, Canada's Minister of Public Safety expressing concerns about the rise in auto-theft in York Region. You can view my full letter here.

I've also written to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stating my full support to modernize Canada's bail system so as to ensure that dangerous offenders are kept off of our streets. You can view my full letter here.
