| | Thanks to the 40 members who joined or renewed in January, we’re one step closer to our goal of 400 members! And thanks to a very generous donor, all memberships and donations will be matched up to $25,000—doubling your impact. Now is the perfect time to join. Together, we’re introducing thousands of Michiganders to plant-based eating through food sampling, festivals, presentations, pledge bags, and Meetups. Thank you for your support! | | | | Over the past eight months, VegMichigan has been intensively engaged in a strategic planning process through the Strategic Planning for Animal Activism program. During this time, our team invested significant effort in coursework, lectures, and hands-on assignments to thoughtfully assess our impact and chart a clear path forward. This work has culminated in a comprehensive strategic plan that will guide VegMichigan’s next phase of growth. By completing the course, we’ll have the exciting opportunity to pitch this plan to more than 10 major donors and foundations on February 10. Our goal is to secure $60,000 in funding to hire an additional Program Manager based in the Lansing area, allowing us to expand our programming and festivals into new regions across Michigan. We’re incredibly proud of the work that has brought us to this moment and hopeful about what lies ahead. Wish us luck, we look forward to sharing an update in our March newsletter! | | Delicious Vegan Options at Toarmina's Pizza Canton | | |

| | | Katie Johnson recently left the VegMichigan team, and we want to thank her for the incredible work that she did for the organization over the past few years. As the Program Manager, she gave engaging presentations, tabled at events, hosted Meetups, and promoted the benefits of plant-based eating by sharing accurate information and delicious food in a positive and inclusive manner. We also want to thank Katie for building and overseeing our volunteer program. We will miss Katie, and we wish her all the best. | | | Join MJFS for a Webinar to Learn About Manure Biogas | | | | As the Michigan Senate prepares to reintroduce legislation modeled after California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard, please join Michiganders for a Just Farming System (MJFS) for a Zoom presentation by Dr. Kevin Fingerman, Professor of Energy & Climate, Cal Poly Humboldt, on Monday, February 9, at 6pm, regarding the unintended consequences of current accounting practices for dairy biomethane (RNG).
