Event Recap: Overdose Prevention Training

Thank you to everyone who attended the Overdose Prevention & Narcan training with the Boston Public Health Commission - The Coalition and the Charlestown Trauma Response Team will be partnering to offer many more trainings throughout the community this year. There are additional trainings offered by HRiA & BPHC as seen in the flyer below.

The magnificent Mswati celebrated a birthday this month - if you see him, be sure to wish him a happy belated!

Sarah Honored by Boston College

Congratulations to Sarah Coughlin for receiving a Boston College School of Social Work (BCSSW) 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award. This award recognizes BCSSW alumni who have made significant contributions to the field of social work.

Clougherty Pool Survey

"As part of our community engagement process for the Clougherty Pool Project, we would like the community to complete this survey and provide us with feedback on our initial design options.

Please let us know which design layout option you prefer for a new pool, as well as your thoughts on potential pool deck features, the bathhouse layout, and future programming."

Helm on Third Community Meetings

The Helm on Third proposal team, St. Francis House and the Planning Office for Urban Affairs (POUA), wants to hear your feedback and questions on their project! There has been significant feedback which the planning team is working to incorporate into their proposal; community engagement is incredibly important during this process! There will be small group meetings in addition to larger meetings in the upcoming weeks. Please see below for a message from St. Francis and POUA!

Race Dialogues

Join us on Tuesday, March 21st at 5:30pm for our monthly Race & Equity Discussion. This series explores important topics about the impact of race, policing in urban settings, and equity. It is open to all members of the Charlestown community and the general public. Please note meetings are once again indoors until further notice at 10 Green Street.

 

This forum is being co-sponsored by the Charlestown Coalition, Turn It Around Youth Program, Councilor Gigi Coletta and her team.

Peace Park Clean Ups

Starting in April around Earth Day, the community will be coming together to clean and plant in the Peace Park. The process of park construction is continuing and we hope to see progress soon. In the meantime, come get to know your neighbors and friends by volunteering! Sign ups will be made available soon.
