Reaching Our World For Christ
From Your Associational Mission Strategist
It’s hard to believe that it is already February. This year has started off with some great things taking place. I praise God for the fantastic youth retreat we had at Camp Houston last month. We had 24 young people attending the retreat and God changed many lives. I am thankful for several of our youth leaders in our association who led in this retreat. There are several other youth events being planned for this year. I also am thankful for our Ministry teams of our association. Our Leadership and Evangelism teams met last month, and they are very passionate about helping our churches to develop stronger leaders and assist churches in Evangelism. I am planning an Evangelism Strategy meeting with our Evangelism team, Men’s Ministry Team, Youth team, and any other Pastor’s who would like to attend. We will meet on February 12th at the HBA Center at 7:00 p.m. The main emphasis for this meeting is to focus on how we can work together and support evangelistic efforts that are being planned.

I am so thankful to be a part of this great association and I am praying that God will help our churches to be healthy and stay focused on building the Kingdom. We need to encourage each other and work together to reach the lost in our communities. Our vision is to reach 300 people annually with the Gospel and baptize and disciple the new believers. We can accomplish this if we intentionally reach those who we know are lost with the Gospel! In fact, if all 39 churches in our Association would reach and baptize 8 people this year, we would have 312 new believers in the body of Christ! I would love to celebrate at our Annual meeting in September that our churches have won more people to the Lord than we ever have before! Let me close with a quote from Charles Spurgeon:

"Oh, my brothers and sisters in Christ, if sinners will be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies; and if they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees, imploring them to stay, and not madly to destroy themselves. If hell must be filled, at least let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions and let not one go there unwarned and un-prayed for."
