February 2026

Dear Friends,

As we recognize Rare Disease Day on February 28, we are reminded that rare should never mean invisible. More than 300 million people worldwide live with a rare condition, and for the children and families we serve affected by bleeding disorders in developing countries, rare disease is a daily reality. Over 75% of people living with a bleeding disorder remain undiagnosed and untreated. Even with a diagnosis, access to care is often limited, and families face stigma, financial hardship, disability, and preventable death.

On this global day of solidarity and advocacy, we honor the resilience of the families we serve, the dedication of our partners, and the compassion of our supporters. Thank you for helping transform awareness into meaningful impact and for standing with children living with bleeding disorders every day of the year.

With deepest gratitude,

Cindy

Celebrating 25 Years of Impact with Our Partners in India

As Save One Life marks 25 years, our program partners across India are joining the celebration by sharing stories from children whose lives have been transformed through the sponsorship program. The Pondicherry, Rajkot, and Indore chapters are highlighting how sponsorship provides children with access to treatment, education, and community support, helping them build a brighter future.

From the Pondicherry chapter, Monish shares a thank-you video expressing gratitude for the sponsorship program, which helps families access factor treatment and care for children with bleeding disorders. Monish is a 12 year old boy with severe hemophilia B. Due to the support from Save One Life, he shares: "I am able to meet my medical expenses and it is helpful. This also helps in my studies and to buy notebooks." His message reflects the broader impact of sponsorships, showing how support empowers families and ensures children can stay healthy, attend school, and pursue their goals.

In Rajkot, we celebrate Gautam, who has used his sponsorship funds to support his education and continue toward a Bachelor of Commerce with a focus on economics. Then-and-now photos show the difference sponsorship has made in his life, giving him the tools and encouragement to keep moving forward despite challenges.

Finally, from the Indore chapter, a group came together to send a thank-you video celebrating Save One Life’s 25th anniversary. Their message of gratitude reflects the widespread impact of sponsorships across India, showing how the support of donors helps children access treatment, education, and the opportunity to thrive. These stories from Rajkot, Pondicherry, and Indore are a testament to the power of community and partnership in transforming lives over the past 25 years.

Please consider sponsoring one of the many children available for sponsorship, like Anaidhkrishna from India.

Anaidhkrishna is a 12 year old boy with severe hemophilia B. He is in 5th grade and his favorite subject is math.

You can help this child and his family by giving them the gift of sponsorship. The funds will be used for basic necessities, medical treatment and education.

In this episode of Where Hope Begins: The Save One Life Podcast, host Kai Sorensen speaks with Usha Parthasarathy, Save One Life’s India Program Coordinator. Usha generously shares her powerful personal story and the experiences that have shaped her life’s work in the hemophilia community. Having lost both her father and her first son to hemophilia, Usha has turned profound personal loss into a lifelong commitment to supporting families living with bleeding disorders in India.

Usha helped create and grow our program in India through Save One Life. Through her dedication to community-building, advocacy, and hands-on support, Usha has helped bring hope and practical assistance to countless families. In this conversation, she reflects on why real change happens up close—in families’ homes, through relationships, listening, and trust—and how sponsorship helps create not just survival, but confidence, stability, and a future.
