Riverview STEM Academy Celebrates Successes

Riverview STEM Academy was one of seven schools in Sacramento County that was honored as one of the state’s best schools in the 2023 California Distinguished Schools Program. George Washington Carver High Kicks Off Video Blog for School Year

George Washington Carver High students produce and anchor a video news update called "Carver Hub" to cover current school announcements and events. The first update for the 2022-2023 school year features a recap of the school's Winter Festival, an introduction to the new Student Government Advisor, and a farewell to a popular faculty member. Grant Applications Accepted Starting February 6

The City of Rancho Cordova will be accepting Community Enhancement & Investment Fund grant applications from Monday, February 6 through Friday, March 17 at 5 PM. The city will review and consider awarding grants to individuals, organizations, businesses, and community partners who are interested in enhancing the Rancho Cordova community through arts, culture, history, entertainment, sports, education, and other projects. Rebuilding Together Seeking Volunteers for Rancho Cordova Program

The City of Rancho Cordova partners with Rebuilding Together Sacramento annually to improve the health, safety, efficiency and curb appeal of Rancho Cordova homes, thanks to a grant from the city’s Community Enhancement & Investment Fund. New Winery Opening Soon in Rancho Cordova Barrel District

Drink EEZY Craft Winery, known for its single-serve wine bottles, will soon open its Rancho Cordova tasting room and retail store in the Barrel District. Drink EEZY's 6.3 ounce bottles come from small-batch vineyards around the globe. The winery plans to host special events and wine judging classes. Learn more

Sacramento County Recovery Grant Applications Open

The Microbusiness Grant Program will support 669 small business and nonprofit organizations with $2,500 grants. Funds may be used to reimburse for negative economic impacts stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and the related health and safety restrictions. Learn more

As we continue into the new year, remember to recycle your food waste and food-soiled paper in your green Organics Waste cart using your food waste pail. Food waste includes items scraped from your plate after you eat and items usually discarded while preparing meals. Learn more

Citizen's Academy Applications Accepted Starting in February

Two RCPD Citizen’s Academy programs will be available in 2023. Each program will feature an 11-week course to provide residents with information about the police department and its proactive policing programs, as well as tools and resources residents can use to help prevent crime. Applications for the spring academy will be available to submit from Monday, February 13 through Thursday, March 2 at 5 PM. Learn more

RCPD Offers Live Scan Fingerprinting

RCPD assists those needing fingerprinting for criminal background checks required for employment, licensing or securing a position that places them in a position of trust. Live scan fingerprinting is available by appointment only Tuesday – Friday (excluding holidays) from 9 AM – 12:30 PM and 1 PM – 4:30 PM. Learn more

Smithsonian Exhibit Coming to the MACC

A traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History will bring personal stories, documents, photographs and interactive exhibits calling attention to the dark era of Japanese Internment Camps. The exhibit opens on Thursday, February 2 at the MACC. Learn more

Art at City Hall: It's So Black and White
