It's geared toward council and district training teams, including Wood Badge staff, summer camp staff, National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) staff and district roundtable chairs, but Scoutmasters and Cubmasters will also find it very useful.

The 2018 Corporate Pinewood Derby Challenge

This event is an adult Pinewood Derby race with awards, food, raffle items, silent auction items, and a fun night out! Make a car and head out to Wells Fargo Arena!!
Funds raised by this event help Mid-Iowa Council offer youth career opportunities in Skilled Trades and S.T.E.M. fields.

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is an exciting, action packed program designed to provide 13 to 20 year old youth members of Troops and Crews with leadership skills.

Outdoor Ethics/ Leave No Trace Training Camp Mitigwa, April 20-22, 2018. The course is for Scouts and adult leaders that are interested in helping their units infuse Outdoor Ethic Principles into camping, high adventure and rank advancement.
The course begins at 7:00 PM Friday and concludes at 12:00 noon on Sunday. Participants must attend all sessions to complete the course.

World Jamboree 2019
The United States will host the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019 along with Mexico and Canada. Held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, young men and women from around the world will enjoy Scouting at its best for 12 days, July 22 - August 2, 2019.
Only 216 youth and 24 adults from the entire Area are accepted as parts of Jamboree units.

2019 Philmont Contingent Registration – Now Open!
|
Mid-Iowa Council’s annual Philmont Contingent for 2019 is open for registrations. We plan to include over 50 Scouts and Adult Advisors in our 2019 Expedition. We will organize those participants into five crews of 10-12 Scouts. Each crew will make their own choice of 35 available itineraries. This opportunity is open to individual Scouts or unit crews. At this time, we are just under half full. ACT NOW!
Our 2019 departure date is July 20th with return on August 3rd. Cost for the trip is estimated at $1,320.00.
If you have Scouts looking for a real adventure in the mountains of New Mexico, let us know! Our reservation must be confirmed by May 1, 2018.
