I want to thank everyone who planned, coordinated, led, and attended the Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 25 via Zoom. Having had a successful meeting, we pray for another prosperous year at Trinity Church!
Can you believe it? We're already into the second month of 2026!!
February is the month for Valentine's Day-- so we have a sermon series on the theme of LOVE. Here are the sermons for this month--
"Loving Jesus" -- February 1
"Loving Creation" -- February 8
"Loving Trinity Church" -- February 15
"Loving Our Community" -- February 22
On February 17, we'll have a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at 6 pm in Fellowship Hall. This is a time of fellowship (and fundraising for the Honduras Mission Trip this spring) before we begin the Lenten season on Ash Wednesday, February 18 with a noontime (12 pm) worship service in the sanctuary (including ashes received on the forehead.)
Also, I'll be leading the online Bible Study on "The Lord's Prayer" starting Monday, February 9. Look for more details in this newsletter.
I hope you'll join me for a blessed time of worshipping God, Bible Study, and fellowshipping with one another this month as we live our mission to "fill people with the love of God and share God's love in all the world."
In Christ's service,
Will

Hello Trinity Church Community!
I hope 2026 has been off to a good start for you and you have been able to find a rhythm of life that brings your happiness. When we work to keep Joy in our life, the daily struggles seem a little less cumbersome. I thank God almost everyday for the gift of music and the Joy it brings me. Have you ever stopped to think about what brings you Joy? Let that be your light and guide as we continue through the New England Winter.
Here is a quick look at what special music February will bring us:
- February 1st - Service music supporting the theme of “Loving Jesus” and “Communion. The Voice Choir will perform a lovely Choir original called “Be Present, Spirit of the Lord” the Special Music.
- February 8th - The Worship Band will provide music for the service, featuring some Praise & Worship style songs along with a Special called “Loving God, Loving Each Other”, made famous by the Gaither Vocal Band.
- After the service, Faith Formation kids will begin learning a song to be performed on Palm Sunday (March 29th)
- February 15th - For Special Music, I will share a vocal solo called “Near the Cross” written by one of my favorite composers, Mark Hayes.
- February 22nd - The Hand Bell Choir will present their first song of the season, called “Abide with Me”, for the Special Music.
I want to thank Pastor Will for leading us in our Song of the Month / Call To Worship during the last month. For the month of February, each of our Sunday services will include the Praise Song “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever”. You can listen to the original version by clicking HERE. We also will continue to use the same “3-Fold Amen” (#314 in Chalice Hymnal) through Easter Sunday.
I encourage everyone to mark their calendars for Maundy Thursday (April 2nd). The Voice Choir will be presenting a musical cantata called “Colors of Grace”. The service will be filled with musical selections, transitional narrations, as well as environmental visuals to support the deep emotion Holy Week brings to us. In collaboration with the Worship Committee, we plan to make this an event meaningful to people of all backgrounds. We also could use a few more singers to help increase the success of this first time service. All are welcome! Contact me if you have any questions about time commitments or beginner musician resources.
I often get asked how I’m able to do the many things I do, and my answer is usually “Joy”. Music is part of many aspects of my life and I’m grateful I get to share it with my Trinity Community. May we continue to share one voice of praise and one heart of worship toward the God of All!
Until We Meet Again,
Scott Arnold (he/him)

Our February gathering for Saturday Breakfast Fellowship will be on Saturday February 14 at 8:30 AM.
At this point, I don’t have a specific topic for discussion this month; however, I’ve written someone asking for permission to use an article he wrote in the Boston Globe about Love. I’ll let you know if that comes through.
Otherwise, we’ll use the “Talking Point” cards to start our discussion. So, plan to join us for breakfast on the 14th. Everyone is welcome to come to Saturday Breakfast Fellowship for breakfast, fellowship, and discussion.

Do you know that Trinity Church has a doorbell? It’s located at the Hudson Street entrance for people who need assistance. While it is our “accessible“ entrance it is not an automatic door.
So, if you hear chimes, it’s not in your head! It’s coming from the Hudson St entrance and someone needs help.

WE ARE HALFWAY THERE!!!
With momentum building, we are still accepting donations for new pew cushions. There are 42 cushions and the cost is $20,000. About $500 per cushion. A donation in any amount can be done via credit car on the website (look for Pew Cushions under Donations) or by check (write Pew Cushions on Memo line).
The new carpeting needs new cushions! Our beautiful Sanctuary is almost complete.
| | EXTERIOR RESTORATION AND MAINTANENCE TASK FORCE UPDATE | | | | |
STEEPLE AND EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE UPDATE
The scaffolding for the steeple project is being erected and is expected to be complete by the beginning of February.
Valley Restoration LLC will then begin the process of detaching the spire from the tower and reinforcing the sanctuary roof. They will also begin to build a cradle in the Trinity parking lot to hold the spire once it has been removed from the tower, which may occur as early as March.
The Exterior Restoration & Maintenance Task Force will host an informational meeting in February to update the congregation on the projects proposed to be financed by the proceeds of the capital campaign, which is scheduled to begin later in the spring.
To help prepare for the campaign, a small group of church members will be interviewed in the third week of March by Jill White of the UCC Church Building & Loan Fund, Trinity’s capital campaign consultant.

Shaped by the Lord’s Prayer: A Journey of Transformation
A Bible Study on Spiritual Formation and Daily Living
There are few prayers as beloved and familiar as the Lord’s Prayer. Its words have echoed through centuries, crossing borders and cultures, spoken in reverent devotion in church sanctuaries and humble homes alike.
Yet the true power of the Lord’s Prayer lies not merely in its repetition, but in its capacity to shape the hearts, minds, and lives of those who make it their spiritual practice.
In this 7-week, one-hour Bible Study on Zoom we will journey with the Holy Spirit and one another into the depths of the Lord’s Prayer—not as a ritual recitation, but as a blueprint for being transformed into the likeness of Christ Jesus.
Mondays at 11 am on Zoom – February 9 through March 30
· Week 1 – The Invitation to Relationship – February 9
· No Bible Study on February 16 (Presidents Day)
· Week 2 – Embracing God’s Purposes – February 23
· Week 3 – Trusting God’s Provision – March 2
· Week 4 – Practicing Forgiveness & Reconciliation – March 9
· Week 5 – Seeking Divine Guidance & Deliverance – March 16
· Week 6 – Living the “Amen:” A Life of Alignment – March 23
· Week 7 – Becoming Prayer-Shaped People – March 30
If you'd like to join us, please speak with Pastor Will or Jean Leif.
