SMP Winter Recitals!
This month we will have our first individual recitals of the year!
This will be the first time students take the stage this year performing solos, duets, quartets, all that jazz.
We have our sights set on a huge student milestone!

 Student recitals are fundamental in becoming a life-long musician. 


SMP recitals provide a platform for young musicians—and free opportunities for audiences to indulge in a showcase of artistry.


We offer a broad array of educational opportunities. Specializing in composition and performance; our program promotes the practice, understanding, and enjoyment of music in the school. We are proud to provide the fun, healthy, and positive after school program that these students deserve.
Middle School Music Project Concert
Date: Wednesday Feb. 13, 2019

Time: 7:00 PM

Location: Yesler Community Center

An extension of SMP's elementary program, students transition into the next phase of their sound. MSMP will take the stage, playing classic and inspiring tunes! This event is the first of our Middle school-aged evening ensemble. Join us for a musical celebration and a night of excitement.
Seattle Music Partners and Cornish Music Ensembles

Three-time Latin Grammy nominee Jovino Santos Neto, a master pianist, composer and arranger, is among the top Brazilian musicians working today. 

Currently based in Seattle, Washington, he has performed around the world and co-producing several legendary records. Jovino’s personal style is a creative blend of energetic grooves, deep harmonies, telepathic improvisation, lyrical melodies and great ensemble playing, always inspired and informed by the colorful richness of Brazilian music.

Jovino leads his Seattle-based Quinteto and teaches piano and composition at Cornish College of the Arts. He can also be heard around the world as a piano soloist, working with symphony orchestras, jazz big bands, chamber music groups, and in collaboration with musicians such as his mentor Hermeto Pascoal, Bill Frisell, Paquito d’Rivera, Airto Moreira, Claudio Roditi, David Sanchez, Joe Locke, Marco Granados and many more.

Join the Seattle Symphony, the Ballard Civic Orchestra and students from the Seattle World Youth Orchestra for an all-Latin American program. L ed by a former SMP teaching artist.
Also, current SMP teaching artist Sonja Borsman will be playing in this upcoming concert.

Roosevelt High School Theater


Seattle Collaborative Orchestra’s second concert this season celebrates music with a twist. Performing both Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade and the world premiere of Leanna Primiani’s  1001 , a current day musical response to the epic tale, but from Scheherazade’s perspective.
