Dear Christ House Volunteers,

We hope that you are having a wonderful start to 2022. This month, we completed two major renovations. We have brand new flooring and beautiful ADA accessible bathrooms (photos below).

Our patients visited the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, practiced folding origami, and welcomed Kairos Members back for AA meetings, New Day Recovery, and religious services. Our patients recently enjoyed a Wizard's game, and we welcomed many new patients into our community for medical and respite care.

Thank you for supporting our mission. Please stay tuned for more information regarding in-person volunteering at the end of this month.

Kind Regards, Hannah Stanke and Jayme Epstein

New Patient Bathrooms
Christ House has renovated bathroom and shower facilities on our respite floor to improve ADA* accessibility. This construction project was funded by the CDC Foundation and National Institute for Medical Respite Care. Our patients now have more space when stepping into the shower, and no longer encounter a difficult step or limited privacy. New seating (not pictured) has also been added for increased comfort. We are very grateful for this wonderful renovation!

Contemporary Flooring
We have updated approximately 5,265 square feet of flooring of our medical respite floor. Previously, the floor was worn down and presented concerns due to cracks and fissures. The new flooring is a non-wax, healthcare-grade material that eliminates many challenges that were presented previously. It is now easier for our patients with mobility aids (such as canes and walkers) to travel safely. The overall look creates a warm and welcoming environment for all of our patients as they heal.
