IMPORTANT ADVISORY FOR SCV WATER CUSTOMERS:

Pause All Outdoor Water Use Feb. 17-24

From February 17-24, 2026, the California Department of Water Resources will complete pipeline repairs at Castaic Lake, temporarily closing SCV Water's connection and concluding maintenance that began in December 2025.

To ensure enough water for essential indoor, health, and emergency needs, we’re asking all customers to pause all outdoor water use during this period.

This includes landscape irrigation, washing vehicles by hand, filling or refilling pools, and any other outdoor water uses that can be postponed until the following week.

‼️With the Presidents’ Day weekend coming up, if you plan to travel, please remember to turn off your irrigation before you leave.

️‼️Even if you’re staying home, take a moment before going to bed on Monday, February 16, to shut off your outdoor irrigation system so water isn’t used during the shutdown period.

Thanks for doing your part to save water!

UPCOMING SCV GSA PERIODIC EVALUATION WORKSHOPS

The Santa Clarita Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency (SCV-GSA) invites the public to participate in a virtual workshop focused on the State-required Periodic Evaluation of the 2022 Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) for the Santa Clara River Valley East Groundwater Subbasin.

This workshop is part of a series of public workshops and meetings being conducted as part of the State-required Periodic Evaluation process. These meetings are intended to inform the public about current groundwater basin sustainability conditions, identify needed clarifications and updates to the GSP, and gather public input throughout the evaluation process.

The upcoming workshop will focus specifically on the Department of Water Resources (DWR)-recommended correction actions related to groundwater quality. Participants will learn more about these recommendations, how they are being addressed, and opportunities to provide input as the evaluation moves forward.

DELTA CONVEYANCE PROJECT UPDATE

LOOKING BACK AT PROGRESS AND WHAT IS AHEAD

The Delta Conveyance Project is one of California’s most important infrastructure modernization projects, protecting water supplies for 27 million people and 750,000 acres of farmland in communities across the state.

Significant progress has been made to date in moving this critical project forward and there are additional important milestones anticipated in 2026.

We are starting the new year by reflecting on how much has been accomplished and how this momentum will carry us into 2026 and beyond.

SOCIAL MEDIA SPOTLIGHT

Our Arundo removal project in the Santa Clara River watershed just off Bouquet Canyon began yesterday! Arundo is a bamboo-like invasive plant species that depletes our groundwater supply and uses 3-4 times more water than native plants. The project will go on for 3 weeks and will help us not only protect our water supply but also preserve our native habitats! This project was made possible through funding from the California State Budget Act of 2023 and the Department of Water Resources. 💙
