NEW Wellness Incentive Program Category for 2024:
Career Well-being
Using one’s strengths every day and maximizing professional potential enhances overall well-being and helps increase enjoyment and engagement at work. The Gallup organization recognizes five elements of well-being that are essential for life-long health: Career, Social, Financial, Physical, and Community. Career Well-being is the most essential of all five elements critical to well-being, as identified by Gallup.
It is our hope that adding a Career Well-being category to our suite of Program Incentive areas will advance the impact of well-being at CWRU and help people more fully thrive at work.
Those who are Monthly Wellness Incentive recipients may begin working toward a $100 Wellness Program Incentive in the Career Well-being category by engaging in professional development activities. Several options for doing so are outlined on our Career Well-being web page, including working with the university's Professional Development Center.
Another upcoming opportunity to earn a Career Well-being incentive will be participation in a new program called Work Happiness Together, which is described below. Please note that to earn any incentive, employees must attest to meeting the requirements in HCM by Nov. 30, 2024.

Work Happiness Together
Join the Wellness Program and the Professional Development Center for a book launch series to enhance your career well-being and build community here at the university. Author of The Work Happiness Method and positive psychology expert, Stella Grizont, will kick off the program by discussing the "Science of Happiness" and "How to Manage Your Mind and Mood".
Participants will learn:
- The three psychological traps that sabotage your happiness and success - and how to avoid them?
- The power of emotions on your vision, decision making, and how to steer yourself towards greater possibilities
- How to stop comparing yourself to others and focus on what brings you great energy
Each week we will meet and focus on one key inner skill covered in Stella's new book, The Work Happiness Method. A copy of the book will be provided for each participant. Join us if you are ready to elevate your experience at work and in life...you don't have to do it alone, we get to do it together.
Those who are Monthly Wellness Incentive recipients can earn a $100 Wellness Program Incentive in the Career Well-being category for this series. Participants must attend at least 7 of the 8 sessions and attest to program completion in HCM by Nov. 30. Please note that these sessions will not be recorded, so please consider your availability to attend the live Zoom sessions each week.

Healthy Habits Challenge
University Health & Counseling Services and the University Wellness Program are partnering to offer a 4-week Healthy Habits Challenge (developed by student Peer Health Educators) for faculty, staff, and students, beginning Monday, March 4.
This challenge has four parts, where participants will build on each healthy habit with a new one at the start of each week. Week one will focus on hydration. Thereafter, the weeks will focus on nutrition, physical activity, and mental health. At the end of each week, participants will be asked to complete a brief survey logging their behaviors and reflecting on how the week's new and ongoing activities made them feel.
UH&CS and the Wellness Program team will raffle off prizes associated with that week's habit at the end of each week. If you want a chance to win that week's prize, you must complete and submit the survey at the end of the week.
All those who register will receive further details before the start of the challenge. Registering for week one will automatically register you for the subsequent weeks. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Mary Halm at mxh1034@case.edu or Deanna Duffy at dxd516@case.edu.

Seasons of Self-Care: Spring
The Seasons of Self-Care program consists of 4 rounds of 4-5 sessions, with each round focusing on a different season of the year. We kicked off the program earlier this year with a focus on self-care in Winter. The Spring round will consist of four sessions and be offered in a hybrid format, meaning participants can choose to attend in person at the Tinkham Veale University Center or via Zoom. Make sure to register for your preferred format.
Having participated in Seasons of Self-Care: Winter is not a requirement to participate in the Spring round, but we will encourage all participants to view the Winter recordings if they have not already. Participation in at least two rounds is necessary to earn a Stress Management Wellness Program Incentive.
Engage in this delightful season of reawakening with our program facilitator, Heidi Weiker. We've rested and readied ourselves for this: the Spring of our well-being. Now, we'll continue to learn and use self-care practices in sync with the changing of our natural world. Together, let's revitalize, renew, reset, and come alive!

Physical Resource Center is Available to Employees
CWRU's Physical Resource Center recently formalized a partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, which has allowed them to expand the availability of nutritious food items available to those in need at the university. Due to this exciting increase in food, they are also now open to ALL students, faculty, staff, and community members.
We encourage anyone who is facing food or other resource insecurity to seek support at the Physical Resource Center, which is located in the Carlton Commons building.
