Sewer & Stormwater Rate Changes
On November 25, 2025, the Village Board reviewed current and upcoming utility rates following a presentation from the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District (NEW Water). These updates will take effect on January 1, 2026.
Sewer: Ashwaubenon’s wastewater is treated by NEW Water (Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District), which will increase its operational rates by 6.6% and capital improvement expenditures by 43% beginning January 1, 2026.
| | | |
Charges from NEW Water make up about 80% of the Village’s sanitary sewer expenses. To keep up with these increases and to maintain quality services, the Village is adjusting local sanitary sewer rates by 20%. It should be noted that sanitary sewer rates only make up a portion of your overall utility bill. A 20% increase does not mean your total utility bill is increasing 20%.
Stormwater: Stormwater Charges will now be billed directly to the property owner beginning January 1, 2026. Charges are based on impervious surface area (roofs, driveways, sidewalks), which affects how much runoff reaches local waterways. A typical residential parcel (1 ERU / 3,316 sq. ft. of impervious surface) will have an annual rate of $82.50, or $20.63 per billing period.

Garbage is collected once a week on your assigned weekday. Recycling is picked up every other week on the same day, based on your A-week or B-week schedule.

| | | | | | | |
The next large item collection will be on Monday, April 20, 2026.
In the meantime, large items can be taken to the Brown County Waste Transfer Station at 3734 W Mason St. for a minimum fee of $27. A bright yellow reflective garment is required to enter.
| | | | | | | Brush collection is offered year-round upon request at ashwaubenon.gov/brush. Service is limited to village addresses, runs on a four-week cycle, and requires your contact information. | | | | | | | Fall leaf collection is complete, and our crews have transitioned to snowplow operations for the winter season. | | | | Stay updated on street closures in the Village. | | Explore the current construction projects taking place in the Village. | | | February Village Meeting Dates | | | | |
