It's time to BE THE LIGHT!
Another Month of Caring - February 2024
| |
Dear Friends,
Did you know The Caring Place only has ONE major fundraiser each year and it's happening NOW? Since 2020, we have made Amplify our signature fundraising event. The best part about this event, is it is all ONLINE! That's right, we aren't asking you to bid on auction items or buy tickets to a dinner. We are simply asking you to give big from your hearts! We have learned that our supporters want their gifts to make the largest impact possible, and through a campaign like this, we are able to do it with your help!
During this year's Amplify campaign, we want you to "Be the Light" of caring in our community. Often your gifts are literally keeping the lights on for families going through a crisis, so it felt like a fitting campaign slogan.
Why is this THE TIME TO GIVE? Your gifts are being matched by generous sponsors (Up to $62,450!)! For a limited time, for every dollar you give, they give! You must make your gift by Thursday, March 7th at 6:00 p.m. to qualify for the match. Who is matching your donations?

Volunteering Does the Heart Good
|
You can shine bright by volunteering!
Whether you love being a welcoming light or enjoy getting stuff done behind the scenes, we have a place for you to spend some time as a volunteer. We have nearly 400 amazing volunteers at The Caring Place. Believe it or not, we need more to fill the needs in our community efficiently.
Volunteers have many reasons for volunteering. Sometimes, they are newly retired and want to fill their time in a meaningful way; occasionally, they are transplants to Georgetown and looking to make connections; often, they want to socialize with good people, but overwhelmingly, The Caring Place Volunteers want to make a difference in their community. They believe in helping others and being a caring light. YOU are invited to join in!

Donating at The Caring Place!
Donate Food
Financial gifts to buy food allow the organization to purchase what it needs when it needs it. Right now, through the Amplify campaign, you can double your impact! Be the light of caring and GIVE NOW!
Due to space restrictions, financial giving is a highly recommended way to help neighbors with food. The Caring Place also has access to discounted food sources and the Central Texas Food Bank, making financial gifts the most impactful way to lend a hand.
If you’d like to help the Food Pantry by having a Food Drive, contact Food Programs of The Caring Place at 512–943-0738 or email fooddonations@caringplacetx.org. Advance notice is requested so that we can make space in the warehouse. We can also send you a flyer highlighting the items your group should collect. Collected Food Drive items can be best tracked for your group by bringing them to the reserved parking space during regular Food Pantry Hours. Mon, Tues, Wed, and Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Donate Your Stuff
Our Donation drive-through is open the same hours as our store at 2000 Railroad Avenue!
Bring your new and gently used items Mon-Sat, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
These donations provide affordable necessities for our community and support our mission to provide for the basic human needs of all people in our community. Through our community's fabulous donations, we also raise money to help neighbors with rent, utilities, transportation, and more when they have financial hardships.

Donate a Monetary Gift
The gift you give today directly impacts families struggling in our community.
Whether it's food, rent, clothing or another type of assistance, The Caring Place can only do this work with the help of generous supporters like you. We can use your gifts where we need them most, or you can designate your gift to the Food Pantry.
Give today during our special matching campaign at caringplacetx.org/amplify. Online gifts must be made by March 7th at 6:00 p.m. to qualify for a match.
