Happy February!
Happy February from Langley Pos-Abilities Society! We are excited to be back with our monthly newsletters. Read ahead for information about our new mapping project and some links about Cancer Prevention Month.

Welcome!
Introductions
Hello everyone! My name is Ashli and I am taking over for the previous newsletter co-ordinator. The entire social media team has had a refresh this year, so please do visit our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter page to say hello to all of us on the team!

A little about myself: I have a bachelors in Creative Communications and am finishing a certificate in Editing. Writing has always been a passion of mine and I am excited to get to bring my skills to Langley Pos-Abilities.

I identify as disabled myself so it is nice to bring a voice to such an amazing program. My disabilities are all invisible which makes using a cane or walker at a young age very nerve wracking. Organizations like Langley Pos-Abilities are so important as we work to educate the public about a wide range of disabilities and mobility aids.

I'm super excited to get to know everyone! If you have any stories that you'd like to share, please e-mail info@pos-abilities.org as I'd love to incorporate them in the newsletter. Feedback is also greatly appreciated! What do you want to see and what do you not want to see in these newsletters?
Push for Accessibility
Langley Pos-abilities needs your help! We are in the developing stages of a new program which maps accessible businesses in the Lower Mainland. The free app will be available through your smart phone and computer while being updated regularly as new reports come in. The app is currently in beta-testing and we need people to try it out/ give us feedback. We currently have some business on the app that are in Abbotsford but we need businesses from all over. We'd appreciate if you can click the links below to find out more information and contribute to the app!

TOAD Program

Through this program, we aim to provide: disability-awareness education, accessibility audits and certification. Learn more here.
New Horizons Program

This is a pilot project to repair personal assistive devices for those people who have no ability to obtain money to repair them. Learn more here.
Accessible or Not?
Watch this video to learn about how important it is for people in wheelchairs and scooters to have proper accessible parking. Lack of proper parking in the right location can put them at risk or restricts access to their vehicle. Accessible parking isn't about convenience, it's a requirement.
The Langley Pos-Abilities Society is excited to have collaborated with SPARC BC on this project. We hope that you are as excited as we are!
2022 AGM Meeting Information
