You have a policy that prohibits any employee who tests positive for COVID-19 from reporting to work onsite. Your employee sends you a copy of the test result that reads positive for "Coronavirus 229E." Do you send the employee home or tell the employee to not come into work in accordance with your policy?

On January 11th, the U.S. EEOC filed a lawsuit alleging a male employee was paid up to $23,000 less than his female counterparts who performed the same work in violation of the Equal Pay Act.
When Good Intentions Go Awry

I have heard this story more than once. With good intentions, a manager (or HR rep!) tells an employee to take time off from work and, "take care of yourself."

Then, those well-intended words come back to bite when the employee's job is filled or abolished and the legal battle begins.

Don't Forget February Posting: OSHA Summary
It's that time of year again. If you are an employer with 11 or more employers and not otherwise exempt from OSHA's recordkeeping requirements, you must post OSHA Form 300-A from February 1 through April 30th.
