January 2020 in Review
The month of January was a busy month at Zack’s Place as we maneuvered around the crazy New England weather that included some frigid temperatures along with some unseasonably warm days, creating a mixture of ice and mud! That being said….weather never seems to get in our way…so we continued being active, engaging in all of our many activities and programs, embracing everything mother nature had to offer .
We started our ski program with Vermont adaptive at Suicide 6 every Tuesday, which is always great fun! We have made leaps and bounds on the slopes and are having a wonderful time. We also started our snow shoeing practices, getting ready for our competition on Sunday March1st at S6. We are joining the upper Valley Hawks for a fun filled event, the 2nd Annual Alisha Boice's In-House Winter Games Tournament from 11-3. Come join in the fun and cheer us on!
Exercise continues to be an important part of our day so we stayed limber and fit with Bari and our 4 yogini’s Amanda, Tita, Lalita and Jamie. We had yoga dance with Liz Barker, we went swimming at UVAC and we played games with Carl. We also managed to get in a stroll or two around town, visiting friends and enjoying the fresh air!
We also stayed in touch with our creative side…joining Fiona and Lisa Kaija at Artistree for pottery,we had art with Lolly, art with Caitlin and crafts with Kitty and Sarah. We made music every Wednesday with Kerry and Sandy and we enjoyed music and movement with Mark and Kathleen. We had wonderful story telling with Jools, accompanied by Emerson Gale on the violin. We went to Billings farm for a fabulous farm program, we went to the HOP to see the play “And so we walked” and we went to the Montshire Museum to explore and engage in all of their many exhibits and experiments.
Last, but certainly not least, we went to Maple Lanes in Claremont, bowling, we had cooking with Sarah and Doug and we saw a couple of movies, one in Lebanon “Spies in Disguise” and one at Billings Farm, Mr. Rogers documentary “Won’t you be my neighbor”, which I must say, was amazing, very touching and incredibly powerful….a must see!
So….there you have it… another wonderful month at Zack’s Place!!
