VOLUME 4. ISSUE 13
Welcome to Carpe Datum’s weekly newsletter, the Federal Data Prospector (Vol. 4, Issue 13) -- the only publication dedicated exclusively to Data and Analytics companies, who share our passion for serving the Public Sector. Greetings fellow data geeks -- for those scoring at home, this week’s newsletter is the most robust collection of GovCon data and analytics opportunities that we’ve ever published. Contrary to our data-driven approach to most matters, this is an unofficial assessment; however, from your editor’s perspective, this calculation reflects not only the sheer number of opportunities, but also the overall quality of these solicitations. With that said, it is always best to let you, our readers, make this determination – so, have at it and if you’re so inclined send us a reply!

Please take the time to share our newsletter with anyone whom you think might find it useful and/or interesting - Click here to subscribe.

In other data news, on March 1stThe Cyber Edge published an interesting article entitled, Directorate Aids AI Adoption for Homeland Security.  In this article, George I. Seffers describes how the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate could release its artificial intelligence and machine learning strategy implementation plan as early as this month and how they are actively growing a community of interest to foster the adoption of the technologies across the department.

  • “Furthermore, AI and ML systems can be useful for assessing cargo containers at ports for potential threats. ‘If you have ever seen the Los Angeles Long Beach port of entry for those cargo ships and the number of containers that are there, having an AI/ML algorithm for screening capabilities would go a long way. Instead of having a human behind that screen identifying each cargo container that’s coming through, you could train that AI/ML capability to do that on their behalf.’”
