VOLUME 3. ISSUE 48.
Welcome to Carpe Datum’s weekly newsletter, the Federal Data Prospector (Vol. 3, Issue 48), which is the only publication dedicated solely to Data and Analytics companies who share an interest in serving the Public Sector. While we scan the globe for relevant news articles and media stories pertaining to this same community, our data feed for Contracting Opportunities is currently sourced solely from the US Federal Government, which happens to be by far the world’s largest consumer of these same products and services. In this week’s issue, we have highlighted both the Department of Transportation and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), who have each asked their industry partners for relevant data sets and commercial technology to support their specific missions. If your organization has any capabilities that could support either of these particular requirements, we strongly encourage you to respond … and if you are not sure how best to do so, please do not hesitate to ask Carpe Datum for help!

In other data news, on November 5th, MeriTalk published an interesting article entitled, NGA Calls on GEOINT Community to Leverage More Commercial TechIn this article, Lisbeth Perez describes how the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) recently released the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) Enterprise Commercial GEOINT Strategy 2021-2025, calling on the larger GEOINT community to leverage more commercial technologies and methods to help the enterprise move faster and grow strong.

  • “New sources breed new methods. New methods breed new doctrine and policy. The way forward must include shareable intelligence produced at a pace that wins both the physical and communications battle for hearts and minds,” NGA Director Vice Adm. Robert Sharp stated in an introductory letter in the strategy. “Commercial GEOINT is a critical element of our national strategy, and the NSG will be the primary driver for national security use cases.”
