Request for Quote (RFQ) – United States Department of Commerce, Census Bureau’s National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) – HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS EMAIL AND ADDRESS DATASET – Product containing health care provider contact information. Healthcare provider mailing address and e-mail address are required (work information, as opposed to residential). Specialty, age, sex, and phone number are also desired, although not required. The types of health care providers required are physicians (both Medical Doctors (MDs) and Doctors of Osteopathy (DO)), physician assistants (PAs), and nurse practitioners (NPs). National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers are also required. The product’s provider contact information shall be updated at least quarterly and these updates must be accessible to the Census Bureau and NCHS. Census also requires an indicator of what information was updated.
In other data news, on January 14th, Government Computer News published an interesting article entitled, ID verification, analytics can help agencies fight fraud. In this article, Jon Cross describes how fraudsters have been running schemes on government programs essentially since those programs were first created. In a sense, if there is money to be had, criminals will try to get their hands on it -- many of them going to great lengths to do so.
