Happy hunting.    Please share our labor of love with anyone you think might enjoy it - Click here to sign-up for the newsletter.   Request for Information (RFI) – The Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA), Enterprise Acquisition Division (EAD) -- Identity Next Generation - July 2021  –The Government requires contractor services to request commercial capabilities to meet the Departments identity requirements using COTS capabilities, including collection and maintenance of the biographic information (like name and DOB), biometrics (like facial image and fingerprints) and supporting identity documents (like driver’s license and passports). This notice shall not be construed as a formal solicitation or an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services.   In other data news, on July 25th, Geektime published a fascinating and very germane story entitled, Startups Emerge in Snowflake’s Wake: Why Israel is Ground Zero for Data Innovation.  In the article, the author, Dan Cahana describes how over the last decade, as technology has subsumed greater swaths of the economy and the competitive frontier has moved from the physical to the digital world, we’ve seen the best companies win with data.   “Companies find themselves at a unique moment in time; they have committed to becoming data-driven, have invested in data infrastructure and talent, and yet are beginning to see the shortcomings of their data stack. Startups that help non-technical users better understand and extract value from data, and equip engineering teams with the tools they need to manage data observability, compliance, security, and more, will come out on top.” The Carpe Datum Team
