Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — Privacy-Preserving Record Linkage (PPRL) of Patient-Level Real World Healthcare Data - The purpose of this contract is to obtain a large volume (>75 million individuals or larger) of deidentified, patient-level, real-world, national level (including data from all 50 states, District of Columbia, and, ideally, U.S. territories) healthcare data that is interoperable and can be linked across medical and pharmacy claims (including both open and closed systems), hospital chargemaster data, electronic medical record (EMR), and laboratory data at the patient level using privacy-preserving record linkage (PPRL).
In other data news, on May 4th, Federal News Network published an article entitled OMB’s upcoming AI guidance calls on agencies to ‘step up’ use of emerging tools. In this story, Jory Heckman describes how the Biden administration is set to release new guidance on federal agencies' use of artificial intelligence this summer, outlining policies for development, procurement, and use, while safeguarding public rights. Major software developers, including Google and Microsoft, will take part in the first public assessment of multiple large language models to ensure AI systems meet the administration's standards.
