Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) — Financial Data Subscription Services - Department of Labor's PPI-OPLC-BLS require continuous access to a subscription for real time financial data. The primary goal of this acquisition is to obtain a subscription to allow for access to and the ability to download real time financial data. The following specific data elements are required: Evaluated Ask Price for various types of debt securities including municipals, corporates, MBS, etc., Evaluated Bid Price for various types of debt securities including municipals, corporates, MBS, etc., Aggregated Fixed Income (Bond) Indexes, etc.
In other data news, on May 9th, Politico published an article entitled Feds turn antitrust focus to digital pharma ads. In this story, Josh Sisco and Ruth Reader describe how the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) are expanding their antitrust investigation to include digital pharma ads, with a particular emphasis on examining the role of data in the healthcare advertising sector. This shift reflects concerns over potential anticompetitive practices and aims to address the influence of data-driven strategies on competition within the pharmaceutical industry.

“At issue in the FTC probe is whether the deal would help IQVIA, a $35 billion pharmaceutical data and analytics company, lock up the bulk of the market for digital advertising of pharmaceuticals aimed at doctors and patients, thereby harming rivals and potentially increasing costs for drugmakers, said three of the people, who were granted anonymity to discuss a confidential investigation. IQVIA is already the largest player in health data and analytics.”
