Welcome to Carpe Datum’s weekly newsletter, the Federal Data Prospector, the only publication of its kind dedicated exclusively to Data & Analytics companies that share our passion for serving the Public Sector. Our featured items begin with a Request for Information (RFI) from the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) seeking a solution for vetting international military students (IMS).

In other data news, on March 14th, Federal News Network published an article entitled What the government could do to mitigate identity theft. In this story, Tom Temin and Jeff Huth, TransUnion's senior vice president for the Public Sector, discuss the company's recently released report highlighting data breaches in the fourth quarter of 2022 and their potential impact on government agencies if the exposed information is used to commit fraud.

  • 'More than anything, this report should give government agencies a sense of where they should focus their efforts to curb fraud and prevent further victimization. Getting access to this information to understand the current type and severity of data breaches is a great first step,' says Huth.”
