Last Call to Register: Teen Trip to Israel

This is the last chance for your teen to get in on the trip of a lifetime. Registration closes this Friday, Feb. 27 for our Houston Teen Israel Experience, open to all 10th–12th graders in the greater Houston area. From June 10 to July 1, teens will experience Israel like never before through adventure, learning, and connection with new friends. This trip is highly subsidized at a cost of $2,500. Contact Danielle Alexander for more information or register here.

Your Dollars at Work: Local Impact Fund

Your Annual Campaign dollars are supporting $198,000 in grants from our 2025 Local Impact Fund to 16 programs that boost the community priorities of inclusion, engagement, and education identified in the Hineni Houston listening journey. All local Jewish organizations were invited to apply for new or expanding programs within these areas. Grants range from $4,000 to $30,000, and programs must be collaborative between multiple organizations. This is an increase of $10,000 from grants awarded in 2024 and nine programs were renewed for their second year of funding. Recently, a bus full of Jewish residents of north Houston (pictured) were able to attend Yom Limmud, our annual day of Jewish learning, thanks to a Local Impact grant. Texas Primary Election: Early Voting Closes Friday

One of the core values we champion in our Public Affairs work is civic engagement: the idea that each of us has a role to play in shaping the communities we call home, and that the Jewish community must show up to the polls and make our voices heard. With that in mind, we are proud to participate in March Matters, a nonpartisan, statewide initiative focused on increasing voter participation in the Texas primary election. We encourage you to learn more, check your registration status, and make a plan to vote here. Key dates: Early voting ends Friday, February 27, and the primary is Tuesday, March 3.

Security Reminder

If you see something concerning, say something. It is critical to utilize the SCN Incident Reporting Form to report any antisemitic incidents you know of. Filling out this form allows us to coordinate a response with local law enforcement and Secure Community Network, the official security organization of the Jewish community in North America.
