I am confident many of you have been following the activities in Washington, D.C., related to the President’s executive orders and the recent actions of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and other university leaders have been closely tracking the OMB memoranda and the various executive orders to determine their impacts on our funded grants and other financial assistance programs and ultimately to understand how these actions affect our faculty, students, and Auburn University.
While the OMB memorandum on financial assistance has been rescinded, the related executive orders remain in effect. Auburn University will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and executive orders.
We continue to gather and review all available information to ensure our programs are in compliance with the federal sponsor directives and then support Auburn faculty and staff. As we encouraged earlier this week, unless you have been specifically contacted by your sponsor, please continue your work as usual. If you have been contacted by your sponsor, please contact immediately Mr. Tony Ventimiglia, Assistant Vice President for Research Administration to engage our office in helping determine how we will comply with the sponsor’s directives.
We will continue to keep you informed as new details emerge, and we will contact investigators when we receive specific directives from our funding agencies.
Thank you for your dedication to Auburn University.
Dr. Steven E. Taylor, P.E.
