“Thank you to Sen. Hoeven and our whole federal delegation for their tireless work to ensure that flood protection for our region remains a top priority in Washington. This increased funding helps support the work of the Governors Task Force that resulted in the right project for our community,” said Board Chair Mary Scherling, Cass County Commissioner. “Our citizens have stepped up to financially support flood protection and we thank our federal partners for their continued support and prompt response to our request for additional funding.”
“With so many years of study, a permit from the State of Minnesota, and federal funding in place, it is time to move forward on this overdue flood protection for Fargo-Moorhead,” Board Vice-Chair and Clay County Commissioner Kevin Campbell noted. “We also remain committed to our obligations to those upstream and to our local watershed. We will be working with them to appropriately mitigate Project impacts as outlined in the MDNR Permit.”
