September has been busy — holy days, holidays, apples, honey, shofars, prayer… and we're not done yet! Next up: Sukkot! If you're a student, faculty member, or young professional, we've got two great ways to come together during this festive holiday.

Sips in the Sukkah - Join JAC for Drinks After Work on Monday, September 28 from 7:00 to 9:00pm! We'll have drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), snacks, a game, some lulav and etrog shaking, and plenty of time to catch up and connect. Bring your friends, meet some new ones, and dress for the weather — we'll be hanging out in the sukkah! Space is limited so register now for this FREE JAC event!

Student-Faculty Mixer in the Sukkah - Students, faculty, university staff, and campus allies are invited to join Hillel on Thursday, October 1 at 7:00pm for an evening of conversation, connection, and networking in the sukkah. Enjoy light food and refreshments while meeting new people and building community in a warm and welcoming space. Register here.

Chag Sukkot Sameach to everyone! See you in the sukkah!

Starting on Friday, October 2, the Calgary Jewish Federation Library will be open for everyone to enjoy! It is located at the Paperny Family JCC and is open every Friday from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Located to the right, down the stairs from the JCC customer service desk, our fully Jewish Library includes everything from fiction, religion & philosophy, Israel, Holocaust education, history, Jewish life, tradition, and more! View our full catalogue or come by the library, staffed by CJF volunteer and author, Zev Cohen, during open hours to set-up your account and check out your books. The first 20 people to sign-up for a free library account will receive a $5 voucher for a coffee and cookie at Karen's Café! Contact Amy Glassman-Boiko for more information.

Keeping our community safe is a top priority, and it's not just physical safety that matters. With technology and online spaces evolving so quickly, it can be challenging for parents and caregivers to keep up. Please join nationally-recognized, online safety educator Paul Davis at The Calgary Jewish Academy on Monday, October 19 at 7:00pm for Raising Kids in a Digital World, a practical and timely conversation about navigating today’s digital world safely. Topics will include social media, smartphones, cyberbullying, AI, gaming, online grooming, privacy, digital footprints and intimate images. This event is open to all community members who are parents, caregivers, or students in grade 7 and above. Register here. Powered by Calgary Jewish Federation.

Did You Know? Calgary Jewish Federation is excited to welcome many new donors to the UJA Campaign! A strong, vibrant community takes a village, and we are grateful to every donor who helps make our community stronger. We are fortunate to have inherited a community shaped by generations before us — and now it's our turn to carry that legacy forward. Whether you've been a donor for years or this is your first time giving, your support matters. Every gift helps to strengthen our community and ensure a vibrant future for generations to come. Consider how you can make a difference. Donate today.
