International Holocaust Remembrance Day is tomorrow. Federation held its commemoration yesterday with a film presentation of " Defiant Requiem ", followed by a fascinating discussion about ‘art as resistance’ during the Holocaust. You can still participate by joining the worldwide #WeRemember campaign. Come in to the JCC and take a selfie with a hashtag sign, or make your own. Share with your friends online and join millions of others around the world doing the same. Photos are already being shown on a large video screen at Auschwitz.
Yesterday at Studio Bell, the National Music Centre 's " Crossroads " exhibition showcased all flavours of Jewish music, catering to music lovers of all ages. Hundreds of dancing, gleeful children, including large groups from PJ Library Calgary® , The Calgary Jewish Academy and JCC Babecare absorbed every entertaining performance.
This week, the findings of 2016 research on Domestic Violence in the Jewish Communities of the Prairie Provinces were shared in a program hosted by Jewish Family Service Calgary . The Panelists, Andrea Silverstone , Miri David , Tanya Muschanov , and the Honorable Nancy Flatters QC, shared research and posed questions to shine a spotlight on domestic violence. A lively and engaging discussion, moderated by Federation CEO Adam Silver , showed our community's great interest in this important issue. Stay tuned for similar events to help end domestic violence in our community. 
Federation’s Judy Shapiro and Ilana Krygier Lapides represented the Calgary Jewish community at a Diversity Fair at Calgary police headquarters on January 11. CPS staff showed great interest in Jewish tradition and the Israeli chocolate was a hit!
