Hillel Calgary, in partnership with CIJA, Temple B'nai Tikvah, and the Avi Schaefer Fund, will be holding our annual Avi Shabbat Interfaith Dinner on Friday, February 22. Avi Shabbat offers an opportunity to bring together students from a wide range of political, religious, and identity divides to share a communal Shabbat meal and conversation focused on fostering interfaith understanding and cross-cultural encounters. The dinner served will be kosher/halal and vegetarian, and will be preceded with an address from MLA Anam Kazim, Honourable Ricardo Miranda, and Rabbi Glickman of Temple B'nai Tikvah. Following the meal we will have engaging table discussions, with the opportunity to attend a Friday night service. Tickets are $10 per person and available here.
Calgary Jewish Federation and the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre invite you to a unique cross-cultural event: Shanghai: A Refuge During the Holocaust. The exhibit chronicles the little-known story of thousands of Jews who sought and found refuge in wartime Shanghai. Based on the oral histories of Shanghai-landers, the exhibit tells their stories through the use of documents and photographs. The free exhibit runs from February 11 to 24 at the Chinese Cultural Centre and February 26 to March 10 at the Calgary JCC.For more information

The 68th Annual B'nai Brith Dinner takes place on Thursday, February 21 at Beth Tzedec Congregation – honouring Nancy Southern, Chair and CEO of ATCO Ltd. and Canadian Utilities Limited, in support of Kids Cancer Care. The generous Board of
B'nai Brith Lodge 816 supports the activities of many Jewish and broader Calgary organizations. This is always a fun and meaningful night – please come and support their efforts.

Twenty-three students from BBYO Calgary are off to Denver, Colorado this week for the International BBYO Convention. They will be interacting with 4,000 other teens from around the world, forging friendships that will last a lifetime.
