Shabbat Hosting Lab

Hillel Calgary invites post-secondary students to join the Shabbat Hosting Lab (SHL). In this hands-on, 10-week fellowship, you'll learn how to design meaningful, creative, and welcoming Shabbat experiences for yourself and your peers. Whether you're a seasoned host, a Jewish Learning Fellowship alum craving deeper learning, or someone who simply loves community and wants to build new skills, SHL is the perfect place to grow, create, and connect. Register online or contact Jamie Keltz.

PJ Moms Learn to Play MahJong

PJ Library® moms are invited to join us for Learn to Play Mahjong. Whether you're new to the game or looking to sharpen your skills, discover this classic, social game in a fun and friendly environment. Register online for our upcoming sessions on Thursdays: January 22, February 5 and February 26 at 7:00pm at the Paperny Family JCC. The cost is $5 per person, per event.

Holocaust Memorial Park

As part of phase II of the rededication of the Holocaust Memorial Park, we are collecting names of those, with a connection to Calgary, who perished in the Holocaust. Please send names to Amy Glassman-Boiko by April 30, if you would like someone to be included. Special thanks to all our donors for the revitalization of the space. The Holocaust Memorial Park and sculpture, Ashes to Life, was donated to the Jewish community of Calgary in 1986 by William (Bill) Schwartz and Alyse Schwartz, each of blessed memory, in memory of their parents Louis & Regina Schwartz and Isaac & Celia Schwartzpel.

From May 17 to 21, mental health professionals are invited to register for Binat Halev, a journey of the heart and mind, featuring learning with Israeli experts in trauma care and mental health innovation. From May 25 to June 1, an Artists & Athletes Mission will immerse participants in our Partnership2Gether region in Northern Israel through hands-on volunteer work, cultural exchange, and inspiring connections in the Galilee Panhandle.
