On September 26, guests enjoyed an evening of poker with great prizes at the Annual UJA Chai Stakes Poker Night at Deerfoot Inn & Casino . In a fun and lively poker game, players were challenged to knock out UJA Campaign Chair Nelson Halpern and Calgary Jewish Federation CEO Adam Silver! Thank you to our generous prize sponsors – Fishman’s Dry Cleaning , Gruman’s Deli , JCC Golden Age Program, Milk & Honey Distillery , WatchIt and Flames hockey ticket donors. September was all about Mahjongg at the JCC! Organized by Calgary JCC in collaboration with Canadian Hadassah-WiZO and the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre , Mahjongg Musings delighted the game's enthusiasts with presentations by Gregg Swain , a guided tour of Chinatown, as well as an exhibit, marketplace, lessons and demonstrations. It was also an opportunity to give back to the community by making won ton soup with Soup Sisters for JFSC clients.
