On October 27, Na'amat Canada Calgary hosted their 22 nd Annual School Supplies Packing Mega Mitzvah Day in Support of The Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter. The Kesher members, who have been volunteering for this meaningful program for the past two years, helped assemble backpacks filled with school and lunch supplies. Backpacks were donated to Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter in support of women and families fleeing from domestic abuse and violence. Calgary Jewish Federation is pleased to present a screening of Back to Maracana in partnership with The Calgary Jewish Film Festival on Sunday, November 10, 2:50pm at Beth Tzedec Congregation. On October 25 The Calgary Jewish Academy hosted their Annual Grandparents & Grandpals Day. The event started with a school-wide assembly, which included a Shabbat service led by the grade four class. Guests then walked the hallways in the same way that the CJA students do, and took time to enjoy the atmosphere and valuable time spent with loved ones as they explored and enhanced their Jewish identity. The CJA shares a great relationship with the community of grandparents, grandpals and friends of the Calgary Jewish Academy.  Mazel Tov to the CJA and everyone who made Grandparents & Grandpals Day a success! Did you know that last year, 107 students were sent to day school because of the Integrated Bursary Program Powered by YOU? On October 27, 120 guests donned their finest hats and fascinators for a traditional High Tea with Calgary JCC's Golden Age program . Served by members of BBYO , attendees sipped tea and enjoyed a variety of sweet treats catered by Karen's Cafe while listening to a live harpist!
