Don’t miss "Keep the Change," a sweet, humorous and touching romantic comedy about an unlikely romance between two individuals who meet in a support group for people with special needs. Co-sponsored by Calgary Jewish Federation as part of our Inclusion Initiatives, the film is at the Beth Tzedec Jewish Film Festival on Sunday, November 19 at 1pm.
What is Giving Tuesday? It's an antidote to the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but mostly it's a reminder of how important it is to give generously. November 28 is Giving Tuesday. If you haven't made your gift to our community's UJA campaign, that would be a great day to do it. If you have, why not celebrate the day by adding $10 or $20 to your gift by texting COUNTS to 45678? Don't forget that you can also donate your time by volunteering for the Cellathon on Nov. 22. Sign up with Irena Karshenbaum 403-537-8594
Welcome home to Adam Silver, Cathy Cole, and Pnina Rubensohn, who represented Calgary Jewish Federation at the P2G (Partnership2Gether) meetings in Etzba HaGalil (our sister region in Israel) with 50 of our Canadian and Israeli partners. Highlights included visits to Calgary-supported projects at Har Vagai School (partner of Calgary Jewish Academy) and Tel Hai College (scholarship programs), as well as a visit to Uziel School (partner of Akiva Academy).
Kol Hakavod to Manny Cohen, who was recently honoured by his fellow volunteers at The Little Synagogue for his tireless efforts to find, purchase, and resettle the Montefiore Institute in its home at Heritage Park.
