Calgary Jewish Federation wishes you a joyous and meaningful Purim! As we celebrate this festive holiday, we come together to honour the courage and strength of Queen Esther and the triumph of good over evil. Purim is a time of celebration, filled with lively traditions such as reading the Megillah, giving mishloach manot, and enjoying delicious hamantaschen. Chag Purim Sameach!

Join us on Thursday, March 27 from 6:00 to 8:00pm for Claim Your Worth. Featuring Cali Oppenheim, this JAC After Work Collective event will focus on the vital skills of negotiation and self-advocacy, providing you with the tools to effectively communicate your value in the workplace. Drawing from her expertise and offering insights from an employer's perspective, Cali will guide you through strategies designed to help you stand out, gain recognition, and ensure that your contributions are rewarded. Register here and please note that this event is geared for individuals from 25 to 40 years of age.

This past Saturday, we recognized International Women's Day with ElevateHER, an evening focused on learning, connecting, and empowering women to take charge of their health. The event featured three incredible speakers: Debra Carnat, MSW, a yoga and meditation practitioner; Corinne Langford, a physiotherapist and pelvic floor specialist; and Amy Bondar, a nutritional therapist and mind-body eating coach. Together, they shared valuable insights on women's health across all life stages, while guests gained knowledge to better care for their bodies and minds. Today and every day, we celebrate Jewish women and their strength, wisdom, and resilience. Thank you Paperny Family JCC for this collaboration and Karen's Cafe for the delicious treats!

Did You Know that Calgary has a special partnership with Northern Israel? Last week, Rob Nagus, Diana Kalef, Cathy Cole, and Samantha Kassel traveled with the P2G Coast-to-Coast delegation to visit communities devastated by the ongoing conflict. As residents slowly return and rebuild in previously evacuated areas, those who remained are striving to establish a new sense of normalcy. Their resilience is truly inspiring, and their determination to Build Back Better will lead to even stronger communities. During the visit, an exciting announcement was made: Project Regeneration, a $20 million initiative from Canadian Jewish communities, will provide critical services and infrastructure to ensure the long-term vitality of Israel's north. This investment will help strengthen and sustain the region for generations to come. For information about P2G, contact Diana Kalef.
