Calgary Jewish Federation and the Paperny Family JCC are excited to announce the search for our next superstar team member to join us in a newly-created, integrated community position, Director of Engagement Programs. View more information about this position and details on how to apply.
On July 14, in partnership with Federations across the country, CIJA hosted a nationwide Community Town Hall to discuss antisemitism in Canada. The goal of the Town Hall was to invite perspectives from Jewish Canadians in advance of the Emergency Summit on Antisemitism being held by the government on July 21. The Town Hall featured the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Diversity and Inclusion and Youth – whose department is hosting the Summit – and the Honourable Irwin Cotler, Canada’s Special Envoy on Preserving Holocaust Remembrance and Combatting Antisemitism – who is co-chairing. If you missed the Town Hall, the video will be available at Fight Antisemitism. If you have a message you would like CIJA to relay to our government, please email or submit a short video testimonial. There will be more opportunities to get involved and we shall bring them to your attention in the days leading up to and following the Summit.
We are thrilled that summer camps are in action this year! Camp JCC is offering a wide range of day camps to children 3-11 years old and a Counsellor In Training Program for teens 13-15 years of age. They still have a few spots available but you must act fast as they are filling up quickly! Camp BB-Riback just started their Leadership Conference for Grade 7-11 campers this week. This unique, one-time camp experience will be packing two years of leadership and staff training as well as camp experience into four weeks! We wish everyone the best of time at camps this summer!
Building an inclusive community is our priority. Contact us and we will make every effort to meet your needs.
