Calgary Jewish Federation removes barriers to participation in meaningful Jewish experiences through the Integrated Bursary Program (IBP). IBP makes Jewish life more affordable by offering a single, confidential application that supports Jewish day school tuition and summer camp fees. Designed with dignity and anonymity, the IBP program ensures each application is assessed equitably based on need and available community funds. The 2026–2027 Integrated Bursary Program applications are now open. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 13. Contact us for more information.

Earlier this week, Kesher members enjoyed a fun and meaningful program called Taste of Passover. Led by Katie Goldig, participants learned to make kosher-for-Passover banana chocolate chip muffins, and a delicious matzah crunch. The room was filled with laughter, sugar highs, and the joy of cooking – everything turned out absolutely delicious! As part of our Inclusion program, Kesher is dedicated to fostering a nurturing, supportive, and welcoming Jewish community where everyone belongs. Contact Karina Szulc for more information.

Since October 7, families in Northern Israel—in places like Kiryat Shmona—have been living under relentless fire, running to shelters again and again as Hezbollah continues its attacks. As the mayor of Kiryat Shmona recently underscored, the challenges facing Israel’s North remain urgent and ongoing. Across Canada's coast-to-coast communities, we often think of philanthropy as planting seeds for the future. But moments like this remind us: Sometimes, that work is life-saving in real time. For example, our emergency funding has helped places such as Kiryat Shmona's central mental health clinic for children and adolescents stay open – providing critical care when it is needed most.
