Keeping our community informed, inspired, and connected to Jewish life in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley, in Israel, and around the world.
CEO message to the community

Good morning.

This past Sunday, the Delaware Legislature House Chamber passed House Resolution (HR18) which encourages all Delaware public and private school teachers to teach their students about the Holocaust and genocide. Although not a law, the resolution serves as a catalyst for a future Holocaust education bill to become law. Representative Debra Heffernan (D), sponsored HR18 and Representative Jeffrey Spiegelman (R), was co-sponsor. Special thanks to Holocaust Education Committee Chair, Steve Gonzer, for his tireless efforts in getting HR18 introduced and for his ongoing commitment to Holocaust education.

On Monday, Federation and JCRC leadership met with J Street's Capitol South Regional Director and Assistant Regional Director, as well as the Delaware Chapter leadership for an update and briefing. J Street believes that all important issues facing the Jewish community should be open to debate and civil discourse.

Federation's Facilities Management Board met on Tuesday morning to review current campus activities and operations. We thank the ongoing leadership of FMB Co-Chairs, Arnie Caine and Robin Kauffman Saran, who ensure a safe community campus.

We hope you had a relaxing and meaningful Fourth of July holiday.
