CEO message to the community
Friend!

Good morning.

Federation beneficiary agency, the Siegel JCC, hosted its annual Sports Classic at Wilmington Country Club on Monday. I had the privilege of attending the cocktail reception to celebrate the day's success with community members and supporters. Yasher koach to Event Chairs, Michelle Silberglied and Josh Schoenberg.

We join the entire people of Israel in extending our heartfelt condolences to President  Reuven Ruvi Rivlin - ראובן רובי ריבלין  on the passing of Nechama, his beloved wife of 48-years, early Tuesday morning. The First Lady was admired by the entire nation and we share in the President’s grief. זיכרונה לברכה. May her memory be for a blessing

On Tuesday our Facilities Management Board (FMB) met as part of our monthly discussions regarding campus activities. In the afternoon I met with the Jewish Historical Society of Delaware (JHSD) to discuss their current and future needs as Federation strives to ensure we maintain Delaware's rich Jewish history. In the evening I celebrated 85 years of the Siegel JCC by attending their Annual Meeting. We thank outgoing President Brent Saliman, incoming President Danny Haas and the Board of Directors.

Federation's Israel and Overseas Committee met on Wednesday evening under the leadership of Co-Chairs, Michelle Margules and Gael Szymanski. We reviewed the activities and achievements the past year as well as discuss the year ahead. This active committee is coordinated through our Community Shlicha , Daniella Buchstaber.

Last night we thanked outgoing Federation President Bill Wagner and installed incoming President Richard Levine as well as our slate of officers at Jewish Federation of Delaware's 84th Annual Meeting. We also honored Hedy Mintz with the Woman of Valor Award, Robin Kauffman Saran with the Volunteer of the Year Award and John Elzufon for his years of service as our JCRC Chair. Thank you to those in attendance and to our leadership who contribute to our collective success. We Grow Stronger TOGETHER.

On Friday, we bid farewell to Community Shlicha , Daniella for the summer months. She will be visiting her family in Israel, having a second wedding in Cyprus and finishing her summer at a Russian/Jewish summer camp in Los Angeles, CA. We' will miss Daniella and Noam and look forward to their return at the end of August. Later this evening, PJ Library will be participating with Congregation Beth Shalom for PJ Shabbat Under the Stars program.

Please be advised that the Federation office will be closed on Monday, June 10 in observance of Shavuot.

We Grow Stronger TOGETHER.

Shabbat Shalom ,
