CEO message to the community
Friend!

Good morning.

On Monday evening I attended the Siegel JCC's Create A Jewish Legacy Happy Hour to thank members of the community who have left or intend to leave a legacy gift and secure the future of the Jewish community.

I attended the Jewish Agency for Israel's Ofek Supervisors webinar on Tuesday afternoon along with colleagues from around the country who supervise shlichim . We are very fortunate to have Daniella and Noam in Delaware who connect us to Israel every day. In the evening our Jewish Fund for the Future Board of Trustees met under the leadership of Chair, Jack Blumenfeld. The JFF is the planned giving and endowment arm of the Federation with total managed assets exceeding $27 million.

On Wednesday our Women of Wisdom (WOW) Luncheon attracted more than 120 women to support Federation and hear from Janice Kaplan, author of The Gratitude Diaries . We learned how to live gratefully and when you find gratitude, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Thank you to our co-chairs; Sue Komins, Elisa Komins Morris and Debbie Komins Ross, the WOW Committee and Federation staff, Wendy Berger and Nicole Terranova, for their leadership and support.

Federation in collaboration with our campus beneficiary agencies, the Siegel JCC, Jewish Family Services of Delaware and Albert Einstein Academy, coordinated the first of two Violent Intruder Preparedness & Response (VIPR) Training facilitated by Delaware State Police Detective, Tim Kerstetter. A second training is scheduled on May 21st at 6:00pm in the Siegel JCC auditorium for those who were unable to attend Wednesday's session.

On Thursday morning, Federation's Wendy Berger and Shari Dym attended the Women Give Breakfast that focused on how to achieve social impact. The program was sponsored by Philanthropy Delaware and featured Kat Rosqueta, Executive Director of The Center for High Impact Philanthropy at University of Pennsylvania.

Last night was our final Allocations Committee meeting where we finalized recommendations that will be subsequently made to the Federation Board of Directors on May 22nd. We thank the Committee and Co-Chairs, Russ Silberglied and Mitch Steinberg, for their guidance and counsel throughout this important process.

We Grow Stronger TOGETHER.

Shabbat Shalom ,
