Keeping our community informed, inspired, and connected to Jewish life in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley, in Israel, and around the world.
weekly message to the community from the president and ceo...
Friend

Good morning.

Last night was Jewish Federation of Delaware's 86th Annual Meeting and our second virtual annual meeting under the theme of - Powered by YOU, with Gratitude. While we weren't together in person, we certainly shared the ruach and celebrated the wonderful successes achieved the past year.

Our community faced adversity head on and learned to pivot the past 15 months. We adapted to the changing times and in doing so, continued to grow the Annual Campaign that address today's needs as well as Legacy gifts that ensure a Jewish tomorrow. Thanks to your generous support combined with wise stewardship and fiscal responsibility, our Annual Campaign distributions exceeded $2 million - a notable achievement within itself but doing so during a pandemic is truly amazing.

We thanked outgoing Board Chair, Richard Levine, for his inspired leadership the past two years as well as the outgoing board members who have completed their terms. We also welcomed incoming Board Chair, Russell Silberglied, and installed the 2021-2022 Officers and Board of Directors. Having an engaged and effective leadership provides a foundation built on a shared vision supported through transparency and accountability.

Congratulations to our Steven J. Rothschild Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient, Steve Gonzer, for chairing the Halina Wind Preston Holocaust Education Committee and for his leadership with Holocaust Education Bill (HB 318) being passed in the Delaware legislature.

Thanks to YOU, We Grow Stronger TOGETHER.
