Feds Feed Families Newsletter
This newsletter provides updates on the Feds Feed Families 2021 Food Drive, how to get involved, and resources on our website, aka “the FFF Hub.” Feel free to share any and all of these items in your internal communications channels (such as internal staff newsletters) to help motivate federal giving at your agency. Questions? Email us at fedsfeedfamilies@usda.gov.
New theme – Back to School

As students of all ages head back to school, it’s a good time to consider giving to food banks and pantries to help young people in need. You can share our latest flyer (available in the promotional tools section of the FFF Hub) to motivate giving.
Results Dashboard

We’ve had five and a half million pounds donated as of August 23. Thanks to all for your generosity! You can view the interactive Results Dashboard to see total pounds on a heat map and filter the data.

The Results dashboard shows data from agency and sub-units that have submitted Recording Donation forms. If an agency or sub-unit has not recorded any donations, it will not appear in the drop-down list. If you don’t see your donation on the FFF Hub, contact us at fedsfeedfamilies@usda.gov for technical assistance.

Participant Closeout Survey

As our summer food drive winds down, we want to hear from you on what worked, and how we can make next year’s campaign even stronger. Please take a few minutes to fill out this Participant Closeout Survey thank you in advance for your valuable feedback.

Warehouse Gleaning Success Story

Did you know that warehouse gleaning is a way to help the hungry? You can volunteer at a food bank or pantry to help organize food for donation. That’s exactly what USDA’s Cynthia Cuellar did, working with a dozen volunteers to prepare 1,500 frozen meals for Feeding Tampa Bay (FL) for distribution to community members in need. Check out her success story on the FFF Hub, and don’t forget to submit your own.

Coming Soon – Sample Thank You Letter for Agency Leads

We are working on a sample thank you letter that your federal agency principal can use to thank your federal employees for participating. We will post the sample letter on our website soon and notify you when it’s available. Thank you.
