Fun with Kids

Spread Holiday Cheer with Acts of Kindness

The holiday season is full of excitement for kids, and it is a great time to encourage them to think of others. One way to do that is by starting a new tradition of carrying out simple random acts of kindness in December.

Here are some fun, easy ideas to try with your kids:

Leave nice chalk messages on the driveway and sidewalks near your home
Deliver cookies to the fire department
Sort through toys and donate any that are no longer played with
Donate pet food to a local shelter
Write a thank you note to your school bus driver
Pick up trash at the park
Collect donations for the food pantry
Candy cane bomb a parking lot
Sing Christmas carols to your neighbors
Visit a retirement community
Read a book to a younger sibling or friend
Help wrap holiday gifts
Tape bags of microwave popcorn to the Redbox rental machine.
Pick out a new toy to donate to Blue Santa
Leave a treat for your postal worker
Make a thank you card for your teacher
Send holiday cards to soldiers
Give someone a compliment
Hold doors open for other people

Kathy Craig Retires

After 19 years with the Georgetown Project, Kathy Craig, Special Projects Assistant, is retiring.

Kathy hats worn many hats in her time with TGP and has enriched the program in countless ways. We will miss her and her tireless work for Georgetown children and youth.
