Fun with Kids

Spread Holiday Cheer with Acts of Kindness

The holiday season is full of excitement for kids, and it is a great time to encourage them to think of others. One way to do that is by starting a new tradition of carrying out simple random acts of kindness in December.

Here are some fun, easy ideas to try with your kids:

  • Leave nice chalk messages on the driveway and sidewalks near your home
  • Deliver cookies to the fire department
  • Sort through toys and donate any that are no longer played with
  • Donate pet food to a local shelter
  • Write a thank you note to your school bus driver
  • Pick up trash at the park
  • Collect donations for the food pantry
  • Candy cane bomb a parking lot
  • Sing Christmas carols to your neighbors
  • Visit a retirement community
  • Read a book to a younger sibling or friend
  • Help wrap holiday gifts
  • Tape bags of microwave popcorn to the Redbox rental machine.
  • Pick out a new toy to donate to Blue Santa
  • Leave a treat for your postal worker
  • Make a thank you card for your teacher
  • Send holiday cards to soldiers
  • Give someone a compliment
  • Hold doors open for other people
