Summer Gardens

Hello Rob,

I hope you don't mind if I use the F word in this newsletter a few times...

It's Fall, my fellow gardeners! A time for reflection in the garden; what worked well & what did not, and what would you change.

The best thing about Fall gardening is being able to redesign your front porch with Autumn plants: fall mums, ornamental kale, millet, grasses, straw bales, and corn stalks. The greenhouses are full of fall choices to fit whatever your Autumn vibe may be. Our famous Porch package is back!

The cooler weather makes working in the garden once again an enjoyable adventure. It is the perfect time to dig up and transplant perennials & shrubs as well as sneak in something new and exciting. (ok well, maybe not all of you have to sneak them in, but if you have a completely full garden and a husband with a horticulture background, it ain’t always easy to plant just one more thing without a lecture about overcrowding…but still, I try)

If you have a few spots where you need a little fill-in, the nursery has been restocked and redesigned with some fresh new arrivals and it’s all 20 % off. Read on for some further nursery & perennials specials as well.

Spring bulbs have started arriving, I repeat started …there are many more to come. Including local seed garlic, which will be in on Monday. (Tuesday in Brockville) If you didn’t buy your garlic from us last year, I highly recommend you try some of these varieties. Our Metechi grown by one of Gemmell’s very own won first prize at the Perth Fair this weekend! #proudgarlicparents.

It’s the start of a new season, and we are here to celebrate it with you!
