“For some people, volunteering is about giving.

But for the likes of you, it is a way of living.” — Unknown

National Volunteer Week was celebrated April 16-22, 2023. We are so grateful for all the FV volunteers who give of their time and talents to our staff and residents. Each one of them are truly priceless.

On Thursday, April 20, over 50 volunteers and staff members gathered for a volunteer appreciation luncheon in the Wisconsin Room at The Gardens. It was a wonderful event to honor our FV volunteers and thank them for their volunteer service during 2022.

During the event it was great pleasure to announce the 2023 Felician Award for Excellence in Volunteer Service at Felician Village, Pat Dondlinger. Congratulations Pat! Very well deserved. Click here to read part of Pat's nomination.

Thank you to all who submitted nominations, it was not an easy choice for our panel of judges. FV truly is blessed with outstanding, compassionate and caring volunteers.

Check out the fun video below highlighting some of the volunteer luncheon.

Imitating Jesus

As we strive to imitate Jesus, we are called to remember that true compassionate leadership is lived out in humble service to others.

How can we apply this idea to our daily lives? It might look like stepping in to help someone when things are extra busy, even when it’s not your job.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

It’s officially baseball season! Felician Village staff and residents dressed the part on opening day to cheer on their respective team.

Just cause we live in Wisconsin doesn’t mean everyone’s a Brewers fan. There are some die-hard Cub fans on our campus!

Pictured at the right (L to R) is Volunteer Coordinator, Debbie, Court resident, Mike, and Sister Bernetta.

Mike has an impressive collection of Cubs memorabilia displayed throughout his apartment.

Easter Activities

Our Felician Village residents had a "hopping" good time with activities during Easter week.

Happy Retirement!

Congratulations to Scotty Zeman on his retirement from Felician Village after nearly 22 years of service to the culinary department.

We wish Scotty a happy and healthy retirement!

Blessing Bags

A special Thank You to Bethany Lutheran School (WELS) - Manitowoc, WI for assembling and donating blessing bags for our skilled nursing and assisted living residents. Your thoughtfulness provided many smiles, and is much appreciated!

Road Trip Lunch

Assisted Living residents at The Court were treated to a Road Trip themed lunch in early April. They had the opportunity to choose between a German or Chinese themed meal, topped off with a big piece of Chicago Cheesecake.

Easter Blessings

Easter blessings in the form of lilies arrived early to residents at Felician Village, thanks to John Durbrow whose mother, Faith Donoghue, was a resident.

“Mother loved to receive flowers and thought it was fitting for others to receive them, too.” Residents Lee and Mitch were so touched to receive one of the many pots.

Happy Hour & Pine River Dairy Bus Trip at The Gardens

The above normal temperatures during the week of April 10 gave Gardens residents the opportunity to enjoy their happy hour outside. Rob Peterson entertained residents while they enjoyed the drink special, Robin’s Nest.

During the same week, a bus trip took residents to Pine River Dairy. Everyone bought cheese, ice cream, butter, cheese whips, and cheese curds. It was a perfect day it was to enjoy an ice cream (or two!)

FV at Home

Lunch Bunch

One of the perks of being an FV at Home member is the monthly lunch bunch. In March, members met at Moore's Irish Pub and in April they tried something new, an evening meal Harborside.

Wish Farewell to Frank

Frank will transition to Senior Vice President, Senior Living and Healthcare for Felician Services Inc. (FSI) in Chicago during the spring/summer of 2023.

He has led our organization since 2013. His leadership has been instrumental in developing our strategic planning process in the past years, specifically as we navigated the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic brought forth. The search for a new president/CEO is underway.

This new opportunity at FSI will enable Frank to share his 30+ years of senior living and post-acute healthcare experience with other Felician-sponsored ministries. Frank is not saying good-bye to Felician Village. He will continue to be a member of the Board of Directors of Felician Village, working closely with the selected CEO and the other FSI Senior Living and Healthcare ministries.

Gifts are not necessary, however some FV supporters have inquired. If you are interested, please contact Renee at
