Mission Message

We start the year with a list of resolutions, ways that we intend to be better people in this next year. I have a friend who was so frustrated at this time of year because his favorite gym was filled with what he called “resoluters.”

Visit from Felician Services

Felician Village had a wonderful visit from

Dr. Michelle Santana of Felician Services Inc. from January 11-14.

Dr. Santana is the new Managing Director of Social Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Belonging at Felician Services Inc. She is planning visits to all the ministries of the Felician Sisters to learn how each ministry functions. During her visit at FV, she met with administration and staff to learn how she can develop programming or enhance existing programming focusing on Catholic Social Teachings, Social Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Belonging.

Those who had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Santana found that she was supportive and very pleased with our mission driven work here. She noted it was clear to see that in our written communications and in our actions, we welcome all people. She even loved the snowstorm!

"People are like snowflakes. Everyone is special and unique in their own way."

A perfect quote for a snowflake craft at The Gardens. Every snowflake was different! These will be used to decorate at The Gardens.

A special thank you to resident, Audrey, for offering wonderful assistance to others while crafting.

Food Wars at The Court

Food Wars at The Court during the month of January included taste testing pickles and olives!

It was either love or hate for the jalapeno stuffed olives and the favorite olive was Kalamata.

Gardens Trivia

Trivia at The Gardens with Scoop Drushke was held on January 5! Prizes were snacks and miniature Crown Royal bottles donated by Van’s Liquor/Wenzels.

Teams were made up of a mix of residents and FV administrative staff.

Happy Retirement

Congratulations to Dr. Jeffrey Allen,

Wishing you a healthy & happy retirement!

New On-Site Physician Services

Effective December 31, 2023, Dr. Jeffrey

Allen, our current Medical Director retired

from Froedtert Holy Family Memorial.

We replaced these on-site physician services with a partnership with Oak Medical.

This new partnership benefits our residents at Felician Village by offering 24/7 access to medical providers, either on-site or through expanded use of telemedicine care.

This change allows us to improve at-home

access, delivery, and quality of care.

You can find a more comprehensive

overview of Oak Medical Group’s services on

their website at: https://oakmedgroup.com.

Chillin with Chili

Thank you to all who came out in the frigid weather for The Gardens Chillin with Chili event January 17.

A special shout out to our four co-sponsors, Felician Village Culinary Department, Greenfield Rehabilitation Agency, HomeCare Health Services & Hospice, and Peggy Kadow/Re/Max Port Cities Realtors.

Guests taste-tested soups, added on toppings to their liking and then finished lunch with a delicious dessert.

Our volunteers did an outstanding job as well, serving guests, cleaning tables and offering to help wherever needed. THANK YOU!

Snow Covered

It took a while, but winter has arrived. The FV campus looks beautiful with the fresh blanket of snow covering it.

Joint Replacement

One of the most common causes of total hip and knee replacement is osteoarthritis (OA), also called degenerative joint disease. (DJD). This occurs from wear and tear on the joints, from either an old injury or a previous infection. The purpose of having a joint replacement is to fix your hip or knee joint. Physical and Occupational therapy are critical in the recovery process.

Christmas Poinsettias Bring Smiles

“Christmas is the perfect time to bring some cheer to the residents at Felician Village,” said Geof Liban. He and Carla donated poinsettias to every resident on campus.

Carla Liban chairs our Fund Development Committee and remembered that some of our residents who received the plants last year admitted that they lasted well into the spring! “That meant a lot to us because they lived during the cold months of the year, waiting for spring to arrive, ” Carla added.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Geof and Carla for their thoughtful donation and for adding some extra smiles on our residents faces and hearts during the holiday season!
