Felician Village Open House a Great Success!

On Thursday, October 5, Felician Village held a campus-wide open house plus a pet blessing in collaboration with Mission and Heritage Week. This was the first time FV hosted an event of this type since COVID, therefore, we were unsure what to expect for

attendance. To our pleasant surprise the turnout was AWESOME! We had a great interest from local community members and even many who traveled 30 plus miles to visit our beautiful campus.

A special thank you to all the employees and volunteers who gave tours, prepared the refreshments, staffed an informational booth, played music and greeted the attendees.

If you were unable to attend the open house, but are interested in scheduling a tour, please call (920) 684-7171 or email.

Trick or Treat!

Felician Village hosted a Trick or Treating event on Monday, October 23rd. Despite the weather being unpredictable, we were able to carry on with our event indoors. The event was quite a success. We welcomed over 200 local area kids from Bethany Lutheran School (WELS), Jefferson Elementary School, Birth to 3 and Homeschooled kiddos. The afternoon consisted of lots of treats for all, games, and Trunk or Treat. The pictures shown only capture a small piece of how much fun was had by kids, residents, volunteers, and staff.

A special thank you to all of our volunteers that helped with Trick or treating and to everyone who donated treats. Each one of you contributed to the success and fun had by all.

If you see Megan out in the community please take a moment to congratulate her on this award!

The Future 15 Award is given out to Young Professionals within Manitowoc County who have proven success and aspired to grow as a professional.

Mission & Heritage Week

Mission and Heritage Week was held October 4 - 11, 23 with the theme of "Reverencing the Other." Many activities were held throughout the the week, such as special morning reflections, core values prize wheel, a scavenger hunt, soup & solidarity, a pet blessing and a Soup War where over 200 items were donated and given to Grow It Forward. Staff was also asked to reflect on our core values and share what they mean to them in a short video. (See one of the videos below).

It was a great week to focus on our mission and core values at Felician Village and reflect on how we can continue to live those out in our work and daily lives.

Felician Village employees share what the core values mean to them.

Pumpkin Decorating

The Gardens and The Court residents showed off their creative side with pumpkin painting decorating in October.

A special thank you to Bev & Rick Evenson who donated the pumpkins at The Gardens and resident, Janice, who donated to the pumpkin activity at The Court.

Chex Mix Party

Residents at The Court made and bagged up 99 bags of Chex Mix for the Mission department to hand out to staff during Mission and Heritage Week. Thank you! The mix was delicious.

95+ Club

The 95+ Club at The Gardens met and enjoyed lunch from Late's - burgers, french fries and cheese curds! The group reminisced about raising their children and the jobs they had.

Shake, Rattle & Roll

Family Game Night at The Gardens was a JACKPOT!

The Gardens staff did an outstanding job transforming the Wisconsin Room and Glab Lounge into Vegas themed game rooms. Residents and their guests had an absolute blast.

Tickets can be purchased at Felician Village front reception desk located at 1635 S. 21st Street, Manitowoc. Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or by calling, (920) 684-7171, ext. 425.

Marilyn's Memory Lives On

In memory of their mother, Marilyn Wanish, the family made a gift to Felician Village for resident activities. “Mom loved decorating The Court area every month, something she looked forward to,” Tammy said.

Karwyn is so happy that through the Wanish family’s gift, she will be able to carry on the tradition of theme decorating the halls that Marilyn loved. Deb added, “Mom was so happy living at Felician Village, everyone was so loving and kind to her. We are truly grateful to you for making mom (and dad) feel so at home.”
