Felician Village News

Family Fun Day

Family Fun Day was recently held across the Felician Village campus. Residents and their loved ones were invited to a picnic style lunch prepared and served by the FV Culinary Department, played a few rounds of BINGO with some fabulous prizes at St. Mary's and the assisted living areas, while Jeopardy was played at The Gardens. The day capped off with LIVE musical entertainment.

The assisted living areas held their event under a big tent and we couldn't have asked for a beautiful day!

Thank you to all the family and friends who were able to attend, it was wonderful to meet some new faces and to catch up with others.

Gooey, chocolatey goodness that puts a smile on one's face. Smores time at The Court!

Pumpkin Season

With the warm September temperatures it may not feel like pumpkin season quite yet, but our St. Mary's residents are ready for all things PUMPKIN! Look at these cute pumpkins they decorated.

For everything there's a season...

and a time for every purpose under heaven. And there is a time to pass the baton to another. This is a time to say thank you!

Thank you Fr. Foley, for your guiding presence in our community and for your many years of service.

Father Foley's final Mass as Presider was Wednesday, September 4, followed by a social gathering in the Village Cafe.

May God look after you, Fr. Foley, just as you have done for us.

Employee Appreciation Picnic

On Wednesday, August 28, employees were invited to an appreciation picnic for their hard work over the last several, for the outstanding completion of the state survey and for being voted the Best of the Lakeshore for the 15th year in a row! Wow! That’s a lot to be proud of, a well deserved celebration!

Brian’s Smokehouse food truck offered a variety of delicious lunch items. Yard games were played, ice cream treats served and great company was had. And who can forget witnessing those three leadership team members who “took one for the team.”

In support of our Felician Village Walk to End ALZ team, Darcy Wech, Director of Nursing, Shannon Otten, VP of Finance/CFO, and Luke Schubert, CEO/President, were the

“winners” of the Walk to End ALZ pie in the face penny wars. Their winnings include a pie in the face!

Kudos to everyone who donated and helped raise almost

$500 for a great cause!

WALK TO END ALZ

A team from Felician Village participated in the Manitowoc-Two Rivers Walk to End ALZ on Saturday, September 7th, raising over $1800!

While great strides are being made around the world in this challenging field of health care, the Walk to End ALZ helps raise awareness and funds in hopes to find a cure for Alzheimer’s. You can still donate to team Felician Village!

On The Road Again

The Gardens residents toured the Carron Net Company, Inc. in Two Rivers the made a stop at Renée’s Popcorn & Chocolates & Ice Cream & Gelato & Italian Ice for gelato and some shopping.

Apple Season

September is the season for apples. FV at Home members, residents, family and volunteers got to sample a variety of wine and cider beverages. A strawberry pickle and a pumpkin spice beer were also provided to change things up! This was a great event to join together people from all areas of campus. Keep an eye out for more beverage sampling events.

Felician Village Welcomes New Director of Environmental Services

With the recent retirement of Mike Miller, former Director of Environmental Services, we are excited to welcome Matt Rohrer to take on this role at Felician Village. Matt was born and raised in Two Rivers. He graduated from UW-Stevens Point where he received a Communications degree with a focus in journalism.

He started his professional career at Channel 5 News working as a Night Producer for the 5:00 and 10:00 p.m. news. He made a career switch to be closer to home and started working in various positions in the nuclear field for 17 years. When the nuclear plant closed, he went into sales, production, and maintenance for Pine River Pre-Pack in Newton. During the pandemic, he moved into the senior living maintenance capacity, serving at multiple organizations including Manitowoc Health and Rehab. Most recently, he served as the Building Operations Manager at Sunnyridge Nursing and Rehab in Sheboygan, where he managed maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, and transportation.

He is looking forward to being at Felician Village to be closer to home for his children who are getting older and becoming more active. He has five wonderful kids, and a beautiful southern wife who keeps him in check. Matt is very excited to join the Felician Village family and looks forward to many wonderful years improving and making wonderful memories.

Twister with a Twist at The Villa
