April Board Meeting highlights . . .
We had 13 new members join PCSC at Orientation this month, bringing current membership to 1,054. Prospective new members are continuing to use the online application process. All good.
The newly organized social media group Parker County Sportsman Swap got Board approval for use as a sort of online Swap Meet for members. Chuck has this app up and running, and I tried it out. What a great idea! Any member can join and chat with other members to buy, sell, or trade just about any firearms-related stuff. Like me, you probably have some ammo in a specific caliber, but you no longer own the gun that went with it (or maybe never did), and what could be better than trading with another member who NEEDS that specific caliber? Info on how to join the group will be detailed in the newsletter.
Ruben Sandoval reported the installation of the new Trap machine on Field 2 is complete. That means all our throwers are up to date and ready for service, so pack your shotgun next time you head to the Club and give them a workout.
A Safety Committee recommendation to clarify our rules for moving the firing line forward of the bench on Ranges A and F safely was approved by the Board.
To wit, “When transporting firearms forward of the bench, handguns must be secured in a holster that fully encloses the trigger guard or unloaded, magazine removed, chamber empty with ECI inserted; and long guns must be unloaded with magazine removed and chamber open with ECI inserted.” ...referenced in Range A rules...
Look for the revised rules in the Documents tab on the Club website. Be sure to add the next Swap Meet on June 12 to your calendar, and . . . stay safe!
